Auto-Rotating Lamp Assembly Instructions

I’ve pre-assembled the main base. Do not screw/unscrew the lightbulb unless you’ve first unplugged it within the lamp base.

  1. Make sure the piece resting on top of the base is loose–it may have shifted in transit, and the lamp will not turn if that piece is tight. If it seems tight, gently pull up on the lightbulb and then let it settle back down. The piece should now be loose, but still unable to rotate freely without being lifted off the gear.

  2. Take the 4 corner rods. Note that each side rod has a rough and smooth end. The rough end has slightly longer prongs. Insert the rough ends into each corner of the base frame.

  3. Take the first side panel and slide it down through the rods until the bottom prongs go into the two holes in the bottom frame. This should be easy to do, but occasionally they are a tight fit; you may need to nudge the panel to fit snugly within the side of the rod.

  4. Repeat this step with the next 3 panels.

  5. Now for the top frame! This is the hardest step because the tension against the top is what holds the frame together. Using your non-dominant hand, hold 3 sides in place. Place the frame on top of those sides and push down on the two corners to snap the rods into the top. The corner rods should align the panels’ prongs but always check—you may need to nudge the panel’s top rim outward to help them slot into place.

  6. Repeat step 4 with the last side panel & corner rods. Then push down with moderate force on all 4 corners. You may need to push the final rod inward at the same time. Once snapped in place, the frame is secure!

  7. Place the top panel into the inset of the top frame. It is a tight fit with one corner poking up slightly: this is so that you will be able to remove the panel easily whenever you need to replace the lightbulb.

  8. Your lamp is done! Plug it in, flip the switch to start it spinning, and enjoy! :D

Manual-Spin Lamp Assembly Instructions

II’ve pre-assembled the lamp socket and main base parts. Make sure the power chord dangles through the slot in the side of the base–this will allow the lamp to sit flat. Do not tighten the plastic ring–if it’s at all tight the lamp won’t be able to spin.

  6. Insert your lightbulb! I use E27 lamp sockets, so any standard lightbulb will work. I have found that soft white LED lightbulbs work best. If your lightbulb is clear, then the lightbulb’s wire will be visible through the panel. Avoid using larger than standard or older lightbulbs (10+ years old) as the heat from those models may warp the panels.

  7. Place the top panel into the inset of the top frame. It is a tight fit with one corner poking up slightly: this is so that you will be able to remove the panel easily whenever you need to replace the lightbulb.

  8. Your lamp is done! Plug it in, spin it around, and enjoy :D
